The AI Search Engine Report evaluates how ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini understand a business. The analysis looks across all three AI models rather than treating one AI response as representative. The findings are evaluated across the seven areas shown below and combined into a 100 point score. The methodology measures AI understanding of a business, not traditional search engine rankings.
| How I Score an AI Search Engine Report | |
| Does AI understand what your business is? | 20 Points |
| Does AI understand what you actually sell or provide? | 20 Points |
| Does AI understand who your business is for? | 15 Points |
| Does AI understand what makes your business different? | 15 Points |
| Does AI know when your business belongs in the conversation? | 15 Points |
| What does AI have wrong, missing, or confused? | 10 Points |
| Do ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini understand your business the same way? | 5 Points |

Does AI understand what your business is?
This measures whether ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini correctly understand the basic identity and category of your business. I look at how the models describe the business, what type of company they believe it to be, and whether that understanding is clear and accurate. If AI starts with the wrong idea of what the business is, the misunderstanding can affect everything that follows.
Does AI understand what you actually sell or provide?
This measures whether the three AI models understand the products, services, or other offerings that make up the business. I look for what the models recognize correctly, what they leave out, and whether they attribute products or services to the business that it does not actually offer. Understanding the business name or category is not enough if AI misunderstands what customers can actually buy from it.
Does AI understand who your business is for?
This measures whether ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini understand the customers, markets, or situations the business serves. I examine who the models believe would use the business and the circumstances in which its products or services would be relevant. A business can be identified correctly while AI still misunderstands who should actually consider it.
Does AI understand what makes your business different?
This measures the characteristics and attributes AI associates with the business and whether the models recognize meaningful differences between it and alternatives. I look at the qualities, strengths, specialties, positioning, and other characteristics the models use when describing the business. This shows whether AI understands more than simply the business name and category.
Does AI know when your business belongs in the conversation?
This measures whether the AI models understand the situations in which the business would be a relevant option to discuss or recommend. I examine the circumstances, needs, and comparisons in which ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini associate the business with a potential customer decision. The purpose is not to measure a ranking position. It is to determine whether AI understands when the business is relevant enough to belong in the conversation.
What does AI have wrong, missing, or confused?
This measures factual errors, important omissions, outdated information, unsupported assumptions, and other misunderstandings found across the three AI models. I separate what the models understand correctly from areas where their interpretation of the business becomes incomplete or inaccurate. These problems matter because an AI system can recognize a business while still giving someone a materially wrong impression of it.
Do ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini understand your business the same way?
This measures how consistently the three AI models understand the business. I compare where ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini agree, where their interpretations differ, and whether important information appears in one model but not the others. Strong agreement indicates that the core understanding of the business is relatively consistent across the three systems. Disagreement shows where that understanding changes depending on which AI model someone uses.
What the 100 Point Score Means
The final score brings the seven areas together into a single 0 to 100 measurement of how completely, accurately, and consistently ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini understand the business. The score is not a search engine ranking and does not measure where a website appears in traditional search results. It summarizes the findings of the AI Search Engine Report and provides a consistent way to evaluate the business across the seven areas of the methodology.
